ALAMANCE COUNTY, NC — The Committee to Elect LeVon Barnes, in partnership with The Alamance Black Coalition, Down Home Alamance Chapter, and dedicated community members, will host the first-ever county-wide Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, November 22nd, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Meals will be served at multiple locations, including Miracle Temple Baptist Church and The Knights Inn Hotel, with additional sites to be announced in the coming days.
This initiative is a direct community response to the rising food insecurity in Alamance County. Currently, over 25,000 families rely on SNAP benefits, yet that figure fails to capture those who do not qualify but still struggle to meet basic needs.
“Due to the lack of humanity we’ve seen in Washington and the lack of care shown by our local representatives — from the State House to the County Commissioners — our community cannot afford to wait for someone else to act,” said LeVon Barnes, candidate for the North Carolina House. “This dinner is a grassroots effort to meet the need ourselves, with compassion and unity.”
Community organizations and local leaders are stepping up to ensure no family in Alamance County goes hungry this Thanksgiving season.
The Committee is calling on local businesses throughout Alamance County to:
Donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at 1246 A Plaza Dr., Burlington, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily through November 21st.
Volunteers are also needed to help serve meals and deliver food to elderly residents and individuals without transportation.
For more information, to volunteer, or to register as a donation site, please contact the campaign at (336) 350-3736 or LeVonForNC@gmail.com.
If you would like to support the event financially in lieu of attendance, donations can be made securely through ActBlue at: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/committee-to-elect-levon-barnes-1
